Our Story
Out Yonder Candle Co. began with something simple… a family idea.
What started in 2023 as a way for our kids to create handmade Christmas gifts quickly turned into something much bigger. What began at our kitchen table pouring wax, testing scents, and labeling jars together grew into a passion we couldn’t ignore. In 2024, we officially became Out Yonder Candle Co. LLC, and our little idea turned into a family run business built with purpose.
From the very beginning, we’ve believed that candles should be more than just something that smells good. They should feel like home. Like slow mornings, coastal breezes, front porch evenings, and the simple moments that matter most.
Every product we create is hand poured in small batches using high quality, thoughtfully sourced ingredients. We focus on clean burning, long lasting candles that you can feel good about bringing into your home.
Our scents are inspired by the places we love and the memories we hold onto. Carolina coastlines, country living, family traditions, and everything in between. Many of our candles even carry pieces of our story, inspired by our kids, our life, and the moments we never want to forget.
As we’ve grown, so has our vision. What started with candles has expanded into wax melts, car diffusers, room sprays, and body products, with even more on the way. But no matter how much we grow, one thing will never change: this business is built on family, faith, and the belief that small beginnings can turn into something meaningful.
When you shop with Out Yonder Candle Co., you’re not just supporting a small business, you’re becoming part of our story.
And we’re so glad you’re here.
Frequently asked
WHAT TYPE OF WAX DO YOU USE?
We use a coconut soy wax blend that is clean-burning, vegan, and sourced from U.S. suppliers. It gives a smooth, creamy finish and an excellent scent throw without any harmful additives.
ARE YOUR FRAGRANCES SAFE?
Yes! We use IFRA-compliant, phthalate-free fragrance oils. This means no parabens, no toxins, and no harsh chemicals. Just high-quality, thoughtfully chosen scents that are safe for you and your home.
What kind of wicks do you use?
Our wicks are 100% cotton — no zinc, no lead, no metal cores. They burn clean and steady for a more even flame.
How long do your candles burn?
Burn time varies by size, but our standard 10 oz candles typically offer 40–50+ hours of burn time when cared for properly. (See below for care tips!)
How should I care for my candle?
For the best burn:
• Trim your wick to ¼” before each burn.
• It’s normal if coconut soy candles don’t reach a full melt pool on the first or second burn. This wax takes its time.
• Allow your candle to burn 2–3 hours at a time so the wax warms and levels out evenly.
• Avoid short burns, which can cause tunneling.
• Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
• Keep your candle away from drafts, pets, and children.
Following these steps helps your candle burn cleaner, last longer, and smell its best — all the way to the bottom of the jar. 🖤
Why does my candle look slightly different from one batch to another?
All of our products are hand-poured in small batches, so slight variations in texture or appearance are completely normal. Each candle is unique — in the best way.
Do you accept returns or exchanges?
Due to the nature of our products, we do not offer returns once the candle has been burned. However, if there is an issue with your order, please contact us — we are always happy to help make it right.
Do you offer local delivery?
Yes! If you are local to our area you will see a local delivery option at checkout.

This is a family business. Our kids help choose scents, label jars, pack orders, and run market booths. We (the grown-ups) handle hot wax to keep everything safe.
